I started my day cuddling my bride, our old dog, and our new puppy. Our old dog has been struggling with our new addition and has felt a little displaced. He was so very happy this morning and has been laying on top of my feet since I sat down with my notebooks and journal to begin my day. I love this dog.
I wrote yesterday’s poem but didn’t upload it. Not sure I’m liking it or today’s work. Both feel rough and unfinished to me. Another set to come back to later for revision and exploration.
No title for today’s piece. It feels rough and unfinished. But I’m writing poetry again and if it’s a little raw, so be it.
It’s been a little while since I waxed romantic so without further ado…
Glanced at the weather app on my phone this morning. We are due for a lot of rain this week!
Had a wonderful evening with family last night at one of our favorite restaurants. It’s BYOB and we may have had a tiny bit more to drink than intended. At least me and my bride both did! Oops.
There’s an empty set of lots across from where I live. They’re my dog’s favorite place to play. Unfortunately they’ve been so overgrown lately we haven’t been able to use them. They were mowed yesterday and we were able to have a great game of fetch and I saw the face of unmitigated happiness. I’m firmly of the opinion that dogs are evidence of the divine.
(Note, the picture with this post is not my own puppy)
