Day 290: Morning Muse

I woke up to the wonderful sight that inspired today’s poem. If ever any evidence was needed that I married well…

Day 289: Dessert Time

Time management is at the fore of my thoughts today. So much I want to do weighed against so much I need to do. I need to find a way to make some more time.

Day 287: Changes

Change is inevitable and several are occurring right now in my life. All good to be sure. But change is not something we as human beings are particularly good at embracing, is it? Thinking on that this morning.

Day 284: Fallen; Day 285: Full Deck

Didn’t post yesterday’s poem so it’s joining today’s. On Saturday our friend and neighbor, a US veteran, had to put to sleep his service dog. She had cancer and couldn’t eat anymore. This one’s for them.

Fallen

And today’s poem is me venting. I’m sure every writer or creative feels from time to time that they’re not playing with a full deck…

Day 282: Numbers

Realized this morning that I’ve once again got my days mislabeled in my poetry journal, and by extension, this blog. Dang it. Corrected them in the journal but I’m going to have to set aside some time to fix things online in the near future. At least today’s number is right…I hope.

Day 139: Exhumed

Was sick yesterday and watched a lot of crime shows when I wasn’t passed out. Between that and Halloween coming up this poem is the result…

Day 137: Drizzle

It’s so easy to fall off the horse.

I had some technical difficulties with my phone, which I think has since been corrected (fingers crossed), and it snowballed into poetry procrastination and before I knew it… Well, the thing about falling off the horse is that you can get back on. Unless you break something. Then maybe go to a hospital first.

Anyway. The dog needed to go out early this morning to take care of his business and we got caught in some mildly chilly drizzle, which inspired today’s poem.

By the way, I didn’t stop writing poetry entirely while I was off that horse, so those pieces will be shared soon.
