Boy have I fallen off the horse? Best that can be said about that is that it’s not too late to climb back on it. Going to try and finish the year strong with this personal challenge. Here goes today’s poem…

Lots of changes around me lately. More to come I suspect.

Thoroughly enjoying this morning’s coffee. It’s the little things in life, isn’t it?

Feeling slightly Seussical this morning and reflecting on a lesson that I recently relearned.

I keep running into scenes, excerpts, and quotes about childish things in adulthood–seeing things as a child sees them, not fearing judgement for what we enjoy, and embracing wonder. I think someone might be trying to tell me something, because the truth is, I struggle with these things.

Change is inevitable and several are occurring right now in my life. All good to be sure. But change is not something we as human beings are particularly good at embracing, is it? Thinking on that this morning.

Another two-for-one deal today. Yesterday’s poem was inspired by an offhanded text message my bride sent. Today’s by a conversation about traveling I had with my parents.

No idea where this came from but I think I like it.

I’ve been fascinated by the imagery of the lighthouse lately. Hardly an original notion, the idea of a guiding destination, but it feels especially pertinent to me lately at this stage of my creative journey.

Today was a day of many small victories coming together for a greater whole.
