February 26 2020: Pine Spires

Been very much off my writing game lately, especially my poetry. Steadily getting back into the swing of things. Today, this poem just came spilling out. Cringing at my misspelling of the word forest. I actually spelled it right the first time, then the second time my brain malfunctioned and I ended up going back to “correct” myself. Bleh. Anyway, onward!

Day 10: A Breath of Agency

Was thinking this morning about character agency in storytelling and how powerful a force it is. Remove it and you remove the heart and soul of the story. That got my thinking about agency in our lives. How do we express it and what happens when we do?

Day 248: Lighthouse

I’ve been fascinated by the imagery of the lighthouse lately. Hardly an original notion, the idea of a guiding destination, but it feels especially pertinent to me lately at this stage of my creative journey.

Day 130: Dancing With The Muse

Not a two-fer today, but a two pager. This year has been a year of growth and journeying. There is madness here, but there’s also a method to it. I’ll let you know when it all comes together.

Day 71: Misty Morning Road

Confession. These last few weeks have been a little tough. I keep getting sick and I’ve been bouncing back and forth between Computer Purgatory and Computer Hell. It’s had me down and I steadily slipped away from the good habits and routines I set forth to establish for this new year and new life. Today I got up early and set myself back onto that path of self betterment.

The sea fog is back in town full force today after our first glimpse of sunshine in weeks. It, the drive to work, and my return to the positive systems that have brought me this far inspired today’s poem.
