For my love.

For my love.
My bride’s been working in Houston all week and thanks to my own work schedule I didn’t get to see her until late last night. Neither of us sleep especially well when apart. Coming home for a productive day to spend some quality time with her before bed was wonderful.
Life is a series of struggles and upsets. That’s what makes it living. We are characters in a story and stories where the characters never struggle are nothing more than daydreams of wish fulfillment and quite frankly, boring. It’s easy to forget to take our problems in stride, to let them overwhelm us. Every now and then though, something reminds us that life is good, problems and all.
This morning’s poem brought to you courtesy of Mihri Hatun, who said “At a glance I love you with a thousand hearts.”
Had a thunderstorm roll in last night. It was pretty neat.
Surprise! Guest poem from my cohost on The Everyday Poet Podcast, Eduardo.
Special thanks to him for all the work he’s done keeping my equipment working and making the magic happen on our podcast.
You’re a wizard, Eddie!
I had a wonderful time with my bride today.
My bride has a job in Houston. As soon as I’m off work, I’m heading up to surprise her. Love this woman.
I haven’t had the opportunity to spend as much time with my bride this week as either of us would have liked. Life is good, we’ve both just been busy. I’m looking forward to going home to her tonight.
Had a special moment with my bride where we experienced a concrete visualization of our goals. Less beautiful was the place than the moment with my favorite person in the world.
